Westwater Entertainment represents a boutique roster of performers and speakers for colleges, casinos, corporate and private events, festivals, clubs and more. We also provide services as an event producer and independent talent buyer, working within our clients' budget to secure their entertainment and event needs with energy, ability, care and cooperative focus. We have been the talent buyer for several universities across the country, a Washington DC non-profit, a few private sector international clients, and some great private and public festivals and events.
Adam is the current Talent Buyer/Music Director for the Boulder Jewish Festival, and serves a similar role as a city council-selected volunteer with the Louisville Cultural Council (both in Colorado).
We have a team of production people, world class choreographers, graphic designers, costume/makeup experts and other partners in Los Angeles, Colorado, New York and London. All truly wonderful individuals who work with character and skill.
The company is run by Adam Sloat, with over 25 years in the business as an agent, manager, promoter, label GM and more. The name “Westwater” is a tribute to Adam’s role as a white water river rafting guide, from 15-19 years old, captaining oar boats down the treacherous Westwater Canyon of the Colorado River just west of the Colorado/Utah state border. This man-versus-nature experience shaped Adam’s ability to calmly navigate challenges as part of the legendary motley crew team that ran the infamous Rocky Mountain River Expeditions. The trips were all about customer experience, excitement and entertainment. A good intro into the music and entertainment business. As a manager and agent, Adam has represented a diverse array of artists, producers, performers and actors around the world, from big names to small in rock, jazz, blues, folk, Latin, bluegrass, and more, including the Stax soul legends The Memphis Horns, and even The Hoff, David Hasslehoff.
We have a passion for entertainment and enjoy the synergy we create by working in various facets of the business. Our goals are simple – work with talented people and form a lasting team built on trust and communication. We believe in character and taking a very down-to-earth approach to our business. We're uber easy to work with, we return calls and emails, we're budget-friendly, we're fair, and we're accessible. The little things really do matter….
(We are beyond humbled by the words below)
"Adam and the crew at Westwater Entertainment are some of the best I have worked with. I have a small number of people I trust, and it isn't often that new people break into that circle. Adam and his staff, however, are different than the rest. They know the industry well, but there is so much more about them that I appreciate. They are kind, trusting, and very low-pressure. They are not salespeople. I love that they are willing to get to know my institution and work to serve our student body in a way that you can't if you're just sending mass e-mails and trying to meet quotas. I have significant trust in Adam. It's like finding a good mechanic. You want someone who is going to do more than just sell you things. I've found my good "booking-mechanic", and I plan to stick with him for the long-haul." - Chris Bohle, Associate Director of Student Life, Hope College (Holland, MI)
“It was an absolute pleasure to work with Adam on a series of events for 200 HNW guests this summer on the beautiful island of Ibiza. As the overall project manager Adam ensured that each event was delivered seamlessly and that no detail was overlooked. It is indeed rare to find someone with not only such exacting standards, but to be capable of military organisation and in possession of a charming and diplomatic personality – I cannot recommend his services enough.” - Paul Ruggiero, Senior Creative, "rhubarb" (London, England)
"Working with Adam Sloat and Westwater Entertainment was an absolute pleasure. As a musician and bandleader, it was refreshing to work with someone who was not only on top of all of the event details, but also accommodating, thoughtful and easy to work with." - Max Wrightson (Los Angeles)
"Adam was very pleasurable to work with. He was a good resource to have during the contract negotiation process. He had a lot of great insights and was very responsive and friendly." [truthLIVE tour – Fall 2013 with OneRepublic] - Mary Dominguez - Assistant Director, Marketing, LEGACY | For Longer Healthier Lives | legacyforhealth.org (Washington, DC)
"Adam and his team at Westwater Entertainment are wonderful agents. They are very thorough in their approach all the way thru the contract execution stage. Great communicators & will always have my business." - Ray Hughes, Ray Hughes Management (Los Angeles)
"Working with Adam Sloat from Westwater Entertainment is always such a positive experience. My programming board does only one or two major musical events a year, so our learning curve is always high. Adam is so friendly, supportive, and available to answer any question we might have through the entire process. This year, students selected Sammy Adams to come to campus for our Welcome Weekend. The first email I sent was to Adam at Westwater to help make the connection to Sammy’s agent. As always, when working with Adam the pieces just fell into place! We were able to get an amazing artist at a price we could afford. Adam worked with me through the offer process, contract negotiations, sound and light requirements, backline, and hospitality needs for the artist right up to show date to ensure an awesome concert! The process could not have been any easier in securing such a talented artist. Our students loved the show, and I loved how seamlessly the show was put together. I will continue to reach out to Adam as we plan future musical events. He makes the process so stress-free!" - Sara Kaiser, Ph.D. (University of North Dakota)
"Thank you so much for being so adaptive and easy to work with! We frequently talk about how great you were and how amazing it is that we were able to put on this event. Without you, it would not have been possible, so thank you so much for all of your efforts in working with us!" - Drake University Student Programming
"Thank you so much for all the help you've given me this past year, Adam, you've really helped make my job a lot easier, sending me all those talented and nice (<-hard to get both) performers." - Glenn Calderon - ASI Productions, California State University - Fullerton
"Hi Adam, I wanted to drop you a note to let you know what an enjoyable experience it was working with you on the Chicago job. The gig did have some challenges but thanks to your astute direction and availability (by phone), it went very well. You are the utmost professional, dependable, congenial, and I look forward for the opportunity to work with you again in the near future." - Frank Lamphere - Rat Pack Jazz (Chicago, IL)
"I was incredibly impressed with your professionalism and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to absolutely anybody - amazing artists, amazing service, and most of all great fun to spend time with." - Lucy Gemmell, Lucy Gemmell Food Consulting and Founder of “rhubarb" (London, UK)
"As many student activities professionals know, the concert planning process can be very unpredictable at times. Most recently, our institution ran into a number of unexpected roadblocks as we tried to secure an artist for our annual spring concert. Luckily, we had Adam in our corner to help guide us over the bumps. Thanks to his patience and encouraging spirit, we continued our search for an artist that the university community would enjoy and eventually found an amazing talent to headline our spring concert at the last minute. We were so lucky to have such an incredible talent share her music with our university and none of this would have been possible without Adam. His experience and industry knowledge was invaluable and it is clear that he genuinely cares about the success of his clients. You couldn’t ask for a better person to have in your corner advocating for you and your students."
